If it’s absolutely mandatory, I personally will love it, but it is debatable as a business move and I could see much less dedicated fans not having the huge boner that I do. I’m sorry that was crude. I meant massive erection.

I meant massive erection. I have a feeling they're probably overstepping it as a publicity move to encourage more subscriptions. No one is stupid enough to require that you watch everything to keep up. One of the MCU's strengths is that you NEVER needed to watch absolutely every movie to get what you're presently watching.

Great point. It has never been mandatory to watch everything, or even anything else, with the possible exceptions of IW and EG, so yeah, I agree, the concept that suddenly the shows would be mando seems a little hyperbolic

Granted, their success has been ridiculously good lately and I suppose they COULD be high enough on that success to think this is a good idea. But I kinda doubt it.

There's that, too. I think they know one size will not fit all their fans.

You just made me wonder, how many people who have see most of these, have only watched them after home release? When Infinity Wars came out, I soon realized I was somewhat lost in the narrative of events leading up to the Thanos plotline, so I reviewed the previous films...I only saw the first Guardians, Ironman, and Thor before...by recording the other earlier movies as they popped up on different cable networks, streaming services, and Redbox. The only Avengers movie I saw at a multiplex other than Ironman I is End Game.

I dont see my father subscribing to D+. And I cannot possibly invite him over every other month to have a binge session for the next show. We are all too busy for that.
I like that the shows will be connected but if its too much people like him will lose interest.

If i had to guess : What If?, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk probably won't be required to watch for the films. Hawke was originally going to be a film, so that's 50/50. Loki is a possible 50/50 if the Doctor Strange 2 connection is true. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Wandavision sound like they're going to be important to the MCU. Especially Wandavision since it leads into Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness.
