Marvel completely forgot that the MCU World War 2 U.S. army wasn’t segregated and that would've had an effects for the rest of the MCU history. Time and again, before Phase 4, the series has shown integrated multiethnic societies getting along throughout their history. Heck, even the Norse Gods are diverse so this all of a sudden there are a ton of undertones about racism in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It doesn’t work with the world they created and the stories they told. In fact, the only people shown to hold racist prejudices in the MCU were the Wakandans, and the entire point of the first movie set there was that they were wrong to be that way.
Additionally, the fact writers had Sam unable to get a loan or make money as Falcon when he’d be the most famous person in Louisiana is ridiculous. Dude would be asked by everybody in the state to make an appearance, including Southern and Grambling State, the two black colleges in the state.
Also, int he first episode, Sam JUST executed a super high-risk mission for the US Military rescuing a high value asset that NOBODY else could have done without a massive amount of more resources and losses being expended, and he did it solo. HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN PAID FOR THAT! Do they not know the US Military budget? HE COULD LITERALLY BUY A NEW FUCKING BOAT AFTER THAT ONE MISSION! Easily!
He could pay Pimp My Ride to trick out his boat with spinning feather rims. Sam could do ONE birthday party for like some millionaire's kid and have more than enough money to fix his family's boat. The poor superhero angle STOPS WORKING when the hero goes public. It works with Spider-Man because he's a kid with a secret identity juggling his public and private lives, but when he gets like signed on with SHIELD or the Avengers or whoever, they don't just tell him to do stuff for them and NOT pay him. He gets MORE resources after teaming up. SAM IS A SOLIDER AND WAS ALWAYS PUBLICLY FALCON! Even if when he was Snapped back to life, he started literally DIRT poor, he'd be a millionaire by the end of the week!
But Disney thinks nobody wants to give a black man money for any reason apparently. What?
