io9.gizmodo.com/krysten-ritter-is-happy-for-her-jessica-jones-journey-t-1835785844I finished the latest season over the weekend and thought it was the dullest of the three. It was slow, uneven and had the weakest villain of any of the Marvel Netflix series. If not for a handful of episodes in the back half, it would have been a near total failure. You could tell Netflix axed the budget quite heavily (likely out of spite). Ritter does a fantastic job with the character as usual and both Taylor, and Moss brings the heat but, the season got carried away with its "alternative lifestyles" theme. I dare you to find one person in a committed, monogamous heterosexual relationship in JJS3. The new assistant (a transgender person) is fun for the first few episodes, but the snarkiness wears thin after a while. I can't blame Ritter for wanting to move on as she is pregnant, and there appears to be no practical way for her to resume playing the character. Here's to hoping Alias investigations can reopen on Hulu.

To elaborate on what WeirdRaptor is saying a Reddit user claiming to have worked under Netflix and Marvel had a Q and A thread not too long ago where they revealed that the power struggle between the movie and television division of Marvel led to radical changes in contracts for various performers like Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Charlie Cox, etc., scheduling conflicts, extensions on original planning out of programming, and a race to see which characters can be brought to television before film. The Civil War was definitely real and felt once Feige had to no longer report to Perlmutter and it affected whatever original plans there were in the long haul resulting in less connectiveness amongst all parties. I believe that at one stage or another the majority of the characters on the MCU TV shows were planned to appear in either Infinity War or Endgame - RDJ shared a fan poster on his social media a few years ago which listed pretty much every major performer of the MCU both in film and in TV, and then we have interviews with the writers saying they tried to make effort to bring them in but scheduling hindered those chances, and in the end only Jarvis from Agent Carter made it in(And an unconfirmed cameo by Foggy Nelson which I believe will be unconfirmed till all the rights are back to Marvel proper). Charlie Cox did say back when Daredevil was in its first season that he had one movie in his contract, the same can be assumed of everyone else, but as the shows went on interviews where they are hopeful turn doubtful.
An interview with Colter and Ritter for The Defenders pretty much illustrates how disconnected things have come since the rift between Feige and Perlmutter,
You can tell both Colter and Ritter are intentionally trying to give the finger at Loeb and Perlmutter there, not knowing who Thanos is and saying that the photoshoot with the cast of Agents of SHIELD was just fancy photoshop spells out pretty well that both were/are let down by how the power struggle has prevented them from going anywhere beyond Netflix with their characters.
Also according to said Reddit user the most likely actors to reprise their parts regardless of who is calling the shots are Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal, least likely would be Jessica Henwick, everyone else like Colter and Ritter are in between and wouldn't respond well if it were Loeb or Perlmutter making the offer but they would be game if it is Feige.

I mostly agree with Lord Death Man. I finished the show on Friday and it is not nearly as good as the first season. Krysten and Rachael and the whole cast do a great job. Krysten and Rachael are awesome and badass. I also liked the primary plot of trying to stop a serial killer. The other plot with Hellcat's story was also fine. The action scenes were good enough.
My issues are with all the soap opera junk. The detective and his husband are trying to adopt a child. WTH does that have to do with anything? I know this is supposed to be R-rated and edgy but does everyone have to immediately have sex with everyone they meet? Hogarth's love story took up too much time but at least it was somewhat relevant to the plot. Malcolm and his girlfriend. Who cares? And enough with all the misery. I swear if I had to listen to one more story about horrible parents I may have broken my TV.
