I don't agree with this "never could have imagined growing up stuff". When I was a kid in the 70's(!), I used to watch the Arabian Knights cartoon and all the Sinbad movies I could find. Guess what the heroes of those properties were Muslims. One of my favorite cartoons of all time "Jonny Quest"(1964) featured a heroic Hindu kid.
