If it's sincere, the person is probably on the young and naive side who doesn't understand the irony of either one.

Because I’m weird, I’ve always wanted to write something in iambic pentameter and make it look like it’s written in free verse. Hey, it worked for William Carlos Williams! And here it is:

“The Triumph of Winter”

December done,
the world

goes gray again,
and these days

even snow
is a sojourner.

Our ancestors
were wiser

with their winter:
The sun

they knew might always
not return.
