Star Wars is considered in general the biggest movie franchise in history in terms of financial gain and cultural importance. My question to you is: has the MCU arrived on that level after seeing Infinity War?

Considering the fact that Disney pretty much ruined any interest in Star Wars for me, yes.
Infinity War cemented that.

In my mind, it passed it a few years ago and as hauntedknight87 stated, the Disney Star Wars movies diminished that franchise, even more so than the prequels.

I agree. Another incredible achievement for Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios.

‘Star Wars’ has higher highs, but MCU doesn’t have ‘The Phantom Menace’, so I’m going with the first option - pretty much against my will because I loved all 3 recent ‘Star Wars’ films.

I choose the first option. The MCU is the equal of Star Wars.

It'd surpassed Star Wars with the original Avengers. Star Wars is only a technical achievement.

Not quite, once the MCU becomes intergenerational, it will have fully surpassed Star Wars. Star Wars fans are handing down the original films to their sons and daughters. The MCU is still too young for that.

Nah, it has to win Oscars first to even be on the same level as Star Wars, LOTR, and the DCEU.

Or you know... Kubrick,Chaplin,Leone...people that didn't do anything for cinema. Or at least not as much as people that did Moonlight, King's Speech or other movies that no one remembers

Or at least not as much as people that did Moonlight, King's Speech or other movies that no one remembers I can't list every snub the Oscars are responsible for. We'd be here longer than the downtime between films that has-been actress who used to play Clarice in Silence of the Lambs movies takes. I've completely forgotten her name and don't feel the need to look it up, she's so irrelevant.

Star Wars is considered in general the biggest movie franchise in history in terms of financial gain and cultural importance. My question to you is: has the MCU arrived on that level after seeing Infinity War? I don't think financial gain means anything. That would make the Transformers movies more important than most of cinema history. And that's just sickening to consider. Also, the fact that Star Wars is still so culturally important after so many decades is not something to discount. But in terms of the newest entries Marvel wins because the Star Wars sequels are forgettable afterthoughts that don't hold a candle to the originals.

I'm enjoying the sequels as much as the original trilogy.
