"[x] days until the party." That's a reference of Five Nights at Freddy's 4, which is basically a prequel/interquel to the whole series. That one is... a real downer, tonally speaking. In a series already based around cycles of abuse, child murder, and uncontrolled industry. If this tweet is meant to be something other than just a "I understood that reference" moment for the fans, then it looks like the movie is going all-in. Prepare for pretty heavy themes if it is going to delve into the victims who go on to possess the animatronics, especially if it delves into the FNAF4 stuff. That game had some stark, raw emotional gut punches that only become more horrifying the more you think about them.

So we can expect this movie to suck then? Don't know. Haven't seen it. You don't have to be such a downer. FNAF is not a complicated movie to make. It mostly takes place in a single enclosed setting (the pizzeria or diner) and only features a small cast of characters term game. Even the FNAF books and comics based don't have huge casts or a lot of locations. It'd be no more time consuming to than making a Saw movie.

I’m not trying to be a downer, but I’m looking at the past movies Universal has released to both streaming and theaters same day. Halloween Kills, Ends and Firestarter weren’t exactly great movies. I’m actually very excited for the FNAF movie and I hope they make a GREAT adaption.

Blumehouse makes low budget horror films, so i think it's safe to say you should keep your expectations in check. It is possible that the film could end up being great.
Depending on how they handle FNAF will decide if i'm going to be rooting for their Dead by Daylight movie or not.

To be fair, so were all the directors who worked on old classics from the '30s through the '50s. Having a director for hire is not a death sentence for a movie.

What was the budget for this, again? I have no idea Probably not that much. It doesn't need to be high budget. I've seen fan films that looked real good just funded on whatever the independent artists had available to them.

I assume the budget they had was pretty low if the only big actors they could afford were Josh Hutcherson. and Matthew Lillard. I was kinda worried that maybe the budget was TOO low, but I mean the animatronics don’t have to look great either. They’re supposed to be old and broken down so maybe the low budget thing will work for it and not against it.

Most of the movie will take place in a small, rundown diner. Even the parody musicals by the YouTube group Random Encounters, which starred Markiplier pulled off creating convincing interior sets on a small budget.
