Netflix Marvel Shows Start Auctioning off Their Props

The Marvel Television Live Auction, featuring screen used props from Netflix series Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, begins Monday at 10 a.m. PDT.

More than 151 lots are available on the auction website, including Nelson and Murdock - Attorneys at Law business cards, round eyeglasses and a pre-Daredevil vigilante mask sported by Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), as well as signs protesting the release of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Items expected to fetch high prices include the stunt Daredevil impersonation costume used by Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel), estimated to sell for $20,000-$30,000, and the stunt costume worn by Cox from the series’ final episode, estimated to win $8,000-$10,000.

Items from Luke Cage and Iron Fist include the “rescue costume” worn by Cage (Mike Colter) in his series premiere, estimated to win $3,000-$5,000, and Danny Rand’s (Finn Jones) stunt yellow Iron Fist mask seen in episode 202, “The City’s Not for Burning,” estimated to fetch $2,000-$3,000.

The auction runs Monday, August 12 through Tuesday, Aug. 13.

These shows will not be continued, they have to be rebooted.

I don’t think they have to be rebooted. They can be sequeled even if that involves recasting.

Personally I don’t think they have any near term plans to use these characters anyway so I’d just put them on the back burner for awhile.

It's just a rumor and, not from a great source but, it has some basis in fact.

Marvel fans had their hearts broken when Netflix announced they were cancelling all five MCU TV shows, with the last of them – Jessica Jones and The Punisher – getting the chop back in February. What with the #SaveDaredevil campaign and similar efforts, though, many are hoping that the shows will be brought back by Hulu or Disney Plus or maybe that Marvel will welcome the Defenders into the movie side of things.

Now, one new report is saying this second option may be what’s going to happen. The only trouble is it won’t be the same versions of these characters we got to know on Netflix. Cosmic Book News claims their source has told them that the studio plans to reboot Daredevil and co. within the MCU, with new actors set to play the heroes.

CBN reports that they’ve been told the Netflix series were never officially considered part of the MCU and so Marvel has no problem with rebooting them once they get the rights back from the streaming service in a couple of years’ time. The site puts this down to the poor relationship between Marvel Studios, which is presided over by Kevin Feige, and Marvel Television, headed by Jeph Loeb.

These jokers managed to predict Blade for phase five.

I think I'm ok with it either way.  I would just lean towards the side of (make an experienced Daredevil movie, skip the origin for the most part, he's just a total bad ass at this point, and you don't have to mention the show at all, but it could easily be viewed as just the early days of the character.  Recast all you want and it's cool)

All you'd have to do is make a movie about an established Daredevil. If you don't do anything that directly and unavoidably contradicts the show, then for all practical purposes it remains canon, even if you recast.

True. The question is, does Feige really need to erase the shows to be able to do what he wants with a film series?
